PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motor capable of sufficiently reducing a cogging force. SOLUTION: If we let a pitch dimension between the centers of adjacent two magnetic pole portion 5b of a plurality of magnetic pole portions 5b of an armature 9 to beτs, the pitch dimensionτs and the length dimension W of central permanent magnets P2 to P8 have a relationship of equality (W=τs).
