PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric discharge display device capable of improving display quality by preventing diffusion of a space charge. SOLUTION: In the electric discharge display device having a plurality of fluorescent discharge tubes 10 arranged in parallel, a plurality of display electrodes 30 arranged to be paired by crossing the plurality of fluorescent discharge tubes 10, and an address electrode 32 located opposite to the plurality of display electrodes 30 and arranged along respective fluorescent discharge tubes 10, a shield electrode 31 capable of applying designated voltage is arranged in parallel with the display electrodes between a paired of display electrodes and the other pair.
