PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data storage device capable of performing high-speed and random reading of data without reducing the life of a nonvolatile memory such as a flash memory. SOLUTION: The device comprises a flash memory 40 as a first nonvolatile memory, a controller 20 for controlling writing/reading/erasing operations of data stored in the flash memory 40 using management information of the data, and a management information storage part 30 as a second nonvolatile memory (e.g., EEPROM) connected to the controller 20.
