PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the mounting condition of a friction pad during braking operation and stabilize the behavior of the friction pad. SOLUTION: A caliper 20 has a radial piston 29B for thrusting the friction pad 40 in the radial direction of a disc 30. The radial piston 29B thrusts the friction pad 40 in the radial direction of the disc 30 to stabilize the mounted condition of the friction pad 40 during braking operation and stabilize the behavior of the friction pad 40.
