PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the situation where an incomings and outgoings of a vehicle becomes impossible when the movement of a pallet stagnates, when the vehicle is erroneously parked on a carriageway surface. SOLUTION: This mechanical parking device is constituted by arranging a gate opening in the incomings and outgoings of the vehicle in a getting-in stage of the vehicle of a front row unit, by arranging units in front and in rear in double rows by arranging a division equivalent to one vehicle in a plurality of stages in the vertical direction and in a plurality of rows in he horizontal direction. Erroneous parking on the carriageway surface of a newly warehousing vehicle is not physically caused by hiding the carriageway surface in advance by a pallet except for a traverse pallet of the getting-in stage of the vehicle of the front row unit in a gate-closed state (S100-S103).
