PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently exhibit the color and luster of lacquer even with reduced man-hours; to reduce cost by reducing the amount of used lacquer to avoid waste generation. SOLUTION: In a lacquer coating method where lacquer 10 is applied to the surface of a material 20 to be coated, with a flexible liquid absorbing member 1, the liquid absorbing member 1 is made of a cloth of cotton, and impregnated with water 2 so that the moisture percentage is adjusted to a set value of 15-70 wt.%, and the liquid lacquer 10 is rubbed against the material 20 to be coated with the liquid absorbing member 1 to be applied to the material 20 to be coated.
