The invention relates to a method for converting liquid cast-iron into liquid steel in a converter, that comprises adding pieces of lime, wherein the lime supply hopper of the converter is loaded with lime from a mobile essentially sealed metal container adapted for providing a concentration of rocks and lime-pieces of more than 7 mm higher than 95 % and a water content, in the form calcium and/or magnesium hydroxide of less than 0.5 % despite a transport of more than 100 km in an atmosphere having a relative humidity of more than 80 %.
