<p>A liquid crystal medium, and an electrooptical liquid crystal display containing the liquid crystal medium are provided to obtain a rapid switching time, a low critical voltage, a satisfactory LTC, a high resistivity, a high UV stability and a high capacity holding ratio. A liquid crystal medium comprises 14-20 % of two or three kinds of compounds represented by the formula 1; optionally 0-5 % of one kind of a compound represented by the formula 2; 15-19 % of one or two kinds of compounds represented by the formula 3; 20-23 % of two kinds of compounds represented by the formula 4; optionally 0-7 % of one kind of a compound represented by the formula 5; 11-18 % of one or two kinds of compounds represented by the formula 6; 5-7 % of one kind of a compound represented by the formula 7; optionally 0-5 % of one kind of a compound represented by the formula 8; and 15-20 of two or three kinds of compounds represented by the formula 9, wherein R1 and R2 are independently a C1-C5 linear alkyl group; R3 is a C2-C4 linear alkenyl group; R4 is a C1-C2 alkoxy group; R4 are independently a C2-C8 linear alkenyl group; and R5 is a C2-C34 linear alkenyl group.</p> |
