RECORDING MARK FORMING METHOD, INFORMATION RECORDING MEDIUM, AND REPRODUCTION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form recording marks which obtain more reliable and excellent reproduced signals while suppressing the number of recording parameters.

SOLUTION: This recording mark forming method forms recording marks on the optical disk 2 by using pulse trains according to the recording information. A pulse train to form the recording marks from a first predetermined recording mark length to the maximum recording mark length includes: the head section containing the head pulses; the end section containing the cooling period; and the center section comprising the center period which is the period between the head section and the end section. The heat on the front edges of the recording marks is controlled by using the parameters of the head section where the recording marks from the first predetermined recording mark length to the maximum recording mark length are classified into the same group, and the heat on the rear edges of the recording marks is controlled at the start position of the cooling period where its recording mark length from the second predetermined recording mark length to the maximum recording mark length are classified into the same group. The second predetermined recording mark length is longer than the first predetermined recording mark length.
