<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new rice plant lineage deficient in phospholipase D (PLD) and a method for judging the presence or absence of a PLD deficiency gene in the rice plants. <P>SOLUTION: This phospholipase D-deficient rice lineage (accession number FERM P-21231) is provided, and its later progeny and its hybridized strains are produced. The phospholipase D-deficiency gene of the rice lineage is identified, and the presence or absence of the phospholipase D-deficiency gene is judged by a method including the detection of the change from guanine which is 2779th base in the base sequence shown in a specific sequence, to adenine or a nonsense mutation at the position corresponding to the above. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
