<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gear mechanism capable of accurately detecting rotating condition of an output shaft, and to provide a motor with reducer. <P>SOLUTION: A worm-gear reducer 10 has a worm wheel 22 for transferring rotation to an output shaft 26; a magnetic member 30 including a magnetic material, magnetized in a predetermined magnetized pattern, and disposed at one end in the axial direction of a worm wheel 22; and a magnet fixing structure 50 to fix the magnetic member 30 to the worm wheel 22. The reducer outputs a signal responsive to variation in a magnetic pole in accordance with the rotation of the magnetic member 30, to detect the rotating condition of the output shaft 26. The magnet fixing structure 50 tightly fixes a geared ring 58 in an extremity 56A through the insertion hole 54 of the magnetic member 30 at the fast pin 56 of the worm wheel 22.
