<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sphygmomanometer which achieves a downsizing of the apparatus while housing a cuff. <P>SOLUTION: The sphygmomanometer 100 has a compartment for housing the cuff formed by connecting a plurality of case members 111-116 rotatably with each other and by arranging them in a ring-like form. In the sphygmomanometer 100, the plurality of case members 111-116 are connected by a plurality of torque hinges 140 or rotary hinges 150 and rotate with each other.
