<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine valve gear varying a cam for open and close operation of engine valves by moving rocker arms in a pivot axis direction and allowing movement of the rocker arms according to open and close states of the engine valves with a relatively simple construction. <P>SOLUTION: In the engine valve gear, a rocker arm movement regulating mechanism 31 has a timing arm 33 engaging with the left and right rocker arms 17, 18 for regulating the movement in an axial direction and a timing cam 36 provided on an intake side camshaft 11 and operating the timing arm 33 for disengagement from the left and right rocker arms 17, 18 when rotational drive of the intake side camshaft 11.
