A digital broadcasting system and a data processing method are provided to calculate a local time in a region in which a broadcasting receiving system is positioned and process broadcasting information according to the calculated time, thereby displaying time information and broadcasting information in response to a change of time according to signal reception during movement. A method for time information from a broadcasting signal comprises the following steps of: turning on a broadcasting receiving system capable of signal reception during movement(S11); demultiplexing time zone identifier information or an STT(System Time Table), to which time difference information between a reference time and the time of a time zone in which the broadcasting receiving system is positioned is set, from the broadcasting signal; identifying the time zone identifier information or the time difference information from the STT; and calculating a local time in a region in which the broadcasting receiving system is positioned and processing broadcasting information according to the calculated time(S16).
