IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD FOR EXTENDING DEPTH OF FIELD

An image processing method for extending depth of field is provided to correct energy distributed to pixels adjacent to each pixel for each pixel of a bayer format image detected from an image sensor, thereby improving sharpness to extend the depth of field of a camera module. An image processing method for extending depth of field comprises the following steps of: detecting an RGB(Red, Green, Blue) channel image from a bayer format image outputted from an image sensor; measuring each edge intensity of the RGB channel image(S32); for each pixel of the RGB channel image, detecting pixel energy distributed to pixels adjacent to the each pixel and calculating the correction value of a pixel of which the size is determined according to the edge intensity and the distributed pixel energy(S331~S333); and adding up each correction value of the pixel to each pixel value of the RGB channel image to correct the pixel value(S341~S343).
