<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To integrally manage a plurality of protection devices such as an air bag and an air bag jacket, and to operate the protection device according to a form and the magnitude of an impact. <P>SOLUTION: In the protection device, the air bag 14 is provided at a motorcycle 1 and the air bag jacket 16 worn by an occupant is integrally managed. A usual collision determination part 214 operates the air bag 14 and/or the air bag jacket 16 according to the magnitude and direction of a collision according to outputs of G sensors 17-19. If a collision forecasting part 213 forecasts the collision by the other vehicle information obtained by an inter-vehicle communication device 23 and one's own vehicle information inputted from a vehicle speed sensor 20 and a GPS antenna 22, a waiting time collision determination part 215 is activated instead of the usual collision determination part 214. The waiting time collision determination part 215 previously determines the collision form and makes a threshold for determining the outputs of the G sensors 17-19 to a value different from that when it is determined by the usual collision determination part 214 so as to quickly determine the collision. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
