INKJET RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inkjet recording medium which requires only a small amount of coating and has both of a high gloss and a high ink absorbency.

SOLUTION: The inkjet recording medium is manufactured by a method wherein a water-based coating composition containing a cationic submicron pigment and polyvinyl alcohol is applied on a substrate and then subjected to casting by a direct method. The coating composition contains a univalent cationic sulfate or sulfuric acid of 1-20 mmol per 100 g of the submicron pigment.
