<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer image receiving sheet having high density printing characteristics by maximizing utilization of a heat insulating layer using a hollow polymer and a receiving layer using a polymer latex while utilizing advantages of a coating system, and capable of achieving a superior image formation owing to high smoothness, and to provide a method for manufacturing it. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the thermal transfer image receiving sheet which has at least one heat insulating layer containing at least one hollow polymer and at least one receiving layer containing at least one polymer latex, and in which at least two layers are formed by coating simultaneously in layers, after passing through a cooling process for a time of 5 s or more and less than 30 s at 15°C or lower after the coating in layers, in a drying process under an environment of >15°C and ≤50°C, the amount of evaporation of water in the coating film coated in the layers is made to be ≥60% of the water content in the film face coated per m<SP>2</SP>just after coating, within 30 s. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
