摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a temperature distribution optimum for a reformer, a low-temperature shift converter and a CO selective oxidation reactor. <P>SOLUTION: A burner 20 and a combustion gas passage 22 are disposed in an insulating container 19, and a reformer 5, a water evaporator 12, a low-temperature shift converter 6 and a CO selective oxidation reactor 7 are arranged in sequence in the combustion gas passage 22 to form a fuel treating apparatus. A supply amount of fuel 35 for combustion to the burner 20 is set so that the temperature of combustion gas of the burner 20 is kept at about 1,000&deg;C, and the supply amount is corrected according to the temperature of combustion gas in a position near the upstream side of the reformer 5. A supply amount of water 35 to the water evaporator 12 is controlled so that the temperature of combustion gas detected at the downstream side of the water evaporator 12 is controlled within a temperature range desired for the low-temperature shift converter 6. A supply amount of cooling water is controlled so that the temperature of cooling water at the low-temperature shift converter 6 outlet side of a cooling water line 33 connected to the low-temperature shift converter 6 is controlled within a temperature range desired for the low-temperature shift converter 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
