<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for a dye-sensitized solar cell having excellent resistance against electrolyte components used for the dye-sensitized solar cell, especially, iodine that is a redox pair, and a dye-sensitized solar cell using the same with degradation with time of solar cell characteristics restrained, with high durability and with high reliability. <P>SOLUTION: The dye-sensitized solar cell is provided with an auxiliary electrode for aiming at lower resistance of an electrode, and a coating layer on the auxiliary electrode.
