PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide portable electronic equipment and a sound output control program by which sound volume is controlled according to the use status of the electronic equipment. SOLUTION: Since the portable electronic equipment is constituted so as to acquire the use status of a user who holds the portable electronic equipment 1 from an illuminance sensor 12, a contact sensor 13 and a GPS part 14 being a use status acquisition part and to control the volume of sound output to a speaker 11 provided as an internal sound output unit to the portable electronic equipment 1 or an external sound output unit such as a headphone 2, even when the plug of the headphone 2 falls off from the portable electronic equipment 1 in a state that the user does not intend, unpleasant sound is not output from the speaker 11 to the surroundings.
