PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structural member which can be manufactured by utilizing existing manufacturing facilities for H-section steel, and has high rigidity, and can suppress the pealing of corrosion protective coating, and further to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The structural member comprises a plate shape web 12 which has a required thickness and extends in one direction, and two flanges 14, 16 which extend from one end of the web 12 in the direction perpendicular to the extending direction of the web 12, and are arranged so as to be unsymmetrical with respect to the web 12. Required curved surface shapes are provided at least on the respective tip end porions of the flanges 14, 16 by means of the caliber rolls in a rolling mill. The length of the flange 16 from the web 12 to the tip end is formed so as to be shorter than that of the flange 14, and the width of the flange 16 along the extending direction of the web 12 is formed so as to be thicker than that of the flange 14.
