PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earth drill which detects oil leakage during operation of excavating blades of a bottom-enlarged bucket and also detects a small amount of oil leakage. SOLUTION: Since the occurrence of the oil leakage is detected based on the flow volume Q1, Q2 of the oil which flows while the excavating blades 22a, 22b of the bottom-enlarged bucket 19 are in operation, the oil leakage is detected during the operation of the excavating blades 22a, 22b of the bottom-enlarged bucket 19. Since the occurrence of the oil leakage is detected based on the detected flow volume Q1, Q2 of the oil which actually flows through hydraulic hoses h6, h7, when a small amount of oil is leaked, the occurrence of the oil leakage is detected at an early stage. When the oil leakage is detected, diameter expanding operation is stopped by a relay 52. By connecting a changeover switch 55 to a dedicated power supply device 457, an operator may be informed by a lamp 53 and a buzzer 54 without stopping the bottom-enlarging operation.
