PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester composition achieving the improvement of various kinds of properties (such as strength improvement, Young modulus improvement, toughness improvement, dimensional stability improvement, heat resistance improvement and gas barrier property improvement) by improving crystallinity of a polyethylene naphthalate having a rigid molecular chain and a low crystallinity. SOLUTION: The polyester composition contains a polyester in which the main repeating unit is ethylene naphthalate, and 0.005-1.0 wt.% sulfonic acid compound represented by the structural formula (I): R-(SO<SB>3</SB>)<SB>n</SB>M<SB>n</SB>(I) [wherein, R is a≥10C aryl group; M is an alkali metal atom; and n is an integer of 1-4] based on the weight of the polyester.
