PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colorant for hair, which does not give chemical damages or the like to hair, is excellent in smoothness and spreadability, when coated, can simply and uniformly dye the hair, does not give uncomfortable senses of use, such as stickiness and stiffness, is also excellent in a secondary adhesion-preventing effect, and is excellent in the persistency and temporal stability of a dyed effect. SOLUTION: This colorant for hair is characterized by compounding the following components (A) to (D); (A) an evaporable hydrocarbon oil agent, (B) an alkyl acrylate-styrene copolymer incompatible with the evaporable hydrocarbon oil agent, (C) a solid oil having a melting point of≥80°C, and (D) a pigment and/or a dye.
