COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

A method for manufacturing a composite material is provided with a step of arranging an optical fiber, which has a notched portion, on a first substrate whereupon a groove is formed; a step of hot-pressing the first substrate and a second substrate so as to have a matrix substrate; and a step of pulling out a part of the optical fiber from the matrix substrate. The composite material which can be easily manufactured and has higher reliability and the method for manufacturing such composite material are provided.
