When generating second character data by replacing a part or whole of first character data with other expression, it is necessary to prepare in advance: a reception rule indicating the relationship between an linguistic phenomenon, a typical word of the linguistic phenomenon, and the range of the linguistic phenomenon; and a replacement method indicating the relationship between the linguistic phenomenon and the other expression with which the linguistic phenomenon expression is replaced. The reception rule stored in a storage device is applied to a word W contained in the first character data, so as to extract the word W and a reception portion, i.e., a phrase, a clause, or sentence containing the word W. According to the replacement method stored in the storage device and corresponding to the linguistic phenomenon, an expression to replace the reception portion is generated and second character data is generated according to the replacement expression and the first character data.
