A method for adjusting focus of a bio-chip is provided to perform rapidly the focusing in the data area by previously calculating the data area and non-data area section and obtaining the data, so that it prevents data collection errors and reduce the data collection time. A method for adjusting focus of a bio-chip comprises the steps of: (1) scanning a disk with at least one installed bio-chip, and storing the scanning data over the total area; (2) discriminating the data area and disk area based on the scanning data; (3) calculating the position value of the data area; (4) adjusting the focus of a scanner prior to the data area based on the calculated data area position value; and (5) recording or playing the data on the bio-chip by using the adjusted scanner.
