<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide Li-Ni composite oxide particle powder for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having large charge-discharge capacity, and excelling in thermal stability in charging. <P>SOLUTION: In relation to Li-Ni composite oxide where the composition of a secondary particle becoming a nucleus is Li<SB>x1</SB>Ni<SB>1-y1-z1-w1</SB>Co<SB>y1</SB>Mn<SB>z1</SB>M<SB>w1</SB>O<SB>2</SB>(0.9≤x1≤1.3, 0.1≤y1≤0.3, 0.0≤z1≤0.3, 0≤w1≤0.1 and M is at least one kind of metal selected from Al and Fe), this Li-Ni composite oxide particle powder for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is prepared by making Li-Ni composite oxide of which the composition is Li<SB>x2</SB>Ni<SB>1-y2-z2-w2</SB>Co<SB>y2</SB>Mn<SB>z2</SB>M<SB>w2</SB>O<SB>2</SB>(0.9≤x2≤1+z2, 0≤y2≤0.33, 0≤z2≤0.5, 0≤w2≤0.1 and M is at least one king of metal selected from Al, Fe, Mg, Zr and Ti) coat the surfaces of the particles or the vicinities of the surfaces or exist on the surfaces or in the vicinities of the surfaces. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
