PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display system by which audio guidance text data correlated with audio guidance data is displayed at a desired timing. SOLUTION: The map display system displays a map in a display means based on map data and guide route data including the audio guidance data, and also outputs the audio guidance data at a prescribed timing. The map display system includes: a data storage memory 250 for storing the audio guidance text data correlated with the audio guidance data; a text data display link extracting means 243; and a text data display adjusting means 245. The means 243 extracts the road link of the guide route existing in a display area, regarding the map data to be displayed. The means 245 displays the audio guidance text data read out from the data storage memory along the guide route, on or near the image of the extracted road link of the guide route.
