PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accurate and quick luminescence measurement method for suppressing a background derived from a viable bacterium and residual ATP attached to a nozzle in a viable bacterium measurement, and to provide an apparatus for it. SOLUTION: The invention includes a cleaning apparatus provided with the nozzle, a bacterium-dissolving solution, a luminescence reagent solution and a detection section, and a cleaning method. The luminescence measurement method enables the immersion of the nozzle in the bacterium-dissolving solution so as to remove the viable bacterium attached to the nozzle and the nozzle in the luminescence reagent solution, and causes the detection section to monitor the luminescence generated in the cleaning process.
