The system has one direct current/direct current (DC/DC) converter (10) with connections (12-14), and another DC/DC converter (20) with connections (16, 18). The connections (12, 16) are coupled with an energy storage (22), and the connection (14) is coupled with a voltage-sensitive load (34). A locking element is coupled between the connection (14) of the converter (10) and the connection (18) of the converter (20), and designed to prevent a current flow from the connection (14) of the converter (10) to the connection (18) of the converter (20). An independent claim is also included for a procedure for operating an electrical system of a motor vehicle.
