The device has connectors (11, 12) for electrical consumer loads (15, 16) connectable with a power grid. A decentralized control unit (9) cooperates with a central control unit (7) and with one of the connectors. The control units are designed, such that the connector (11) is disconnected from the power grid by a signal and the connector (12) remains connected with the power grid in an emergency power supply mode, where the signal is sent by the central control unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for distributing electrical energy.
