The invention is a latch for attaching a door to an adjacent door jamb which latch includes a body component and a cooperative receptor for a latch closing means, the body component having a portion thereof extending over and abutting a surface of an adjacent door or door jamb when the door is closed. At least one bumper device is incorporated within the extended portion of the body component such that upon closure of the door a face of the bumper device abuts a face of the door or door jamb. '/7.
