<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oscillation mode determination device which, detects the oscillation mode of laser light emitted from an external resonator semiconductor laser by a simple method, and to provide a laser light source device using the oscillation mode determination device. <P>SOLUTION: The oscillation mode determination device includes an optical reflecting means which receives part of laser light emitted from the external resonator semiconductor laser and emits reflection light causing an intensity pattern of an interference fringe, an optical detecting means which detects the intensity of the reflection light emitted from the optical reflecting means, and a determination means which determines the state of the oscillation of the external resonator semiconductor laser based on a difference value of an optical detection signal based on light intensity that is detected by the optical detecting means before and after a drive current is increased or decreased by a given value for the external resonator semiconductor laser. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
