<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method and a device for isolating and purifying nucleic acid. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to the method immobilizing a nucleic acid in a simple manner from a sample containing nucleic acids and releasing similarly in a simple manner and to the method using a surface, for example porous membranes, enabling to carry out the simple practice in a completely automatic manner. An additional aspect of the invention is directed to a phase, in such a way that the nucleic acids can be simply released again from the phase in a successive reaction step, and can optionally be used in additional applications, such as degradation by restriction, RT, PCR or RT-PCR or in the every other suitable analytic or enzymatic reaction.
