<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically register a DMP (Digital Media Player) device in a DMS (Digital Media Server) device complying with a DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance). <P>SOLUTION: A control part 201 broadcasts a "Notify" message for notifying that this DMS device can be used (is started) through a transmission part 202. A reception part 203 receives a "Device Description" message transmitted from the DMP device. The control part 201 recognizes that the DMP device is present inside a network broadcasting the "Notify" message from the message received by the reception part 203.
