PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coat fabric for an airbag, which has both excellent low air permeability and compactness at storing required for the coat fabric for the airbag, and further has excellent edgecomb resistance to reduce the slippage of meshes at the sewn part of the airbag when receiving a crew after the airbag has been expanded and spread, and to provide the airbag composed of the coat fabric, and a method for producing the coat fabric. SOLUTION: The coat fabric for the airbag is obtained by coating at least one surface of a woven fabric composed of the same synthetic fiber yarns as the warp yarn and the weft yarn, and satisfies the following requirements: (1) Nf/Nw≥1.05 [wherein, Nw is the woven density of the warp yarn (count/2.54 cm); and Nf is the woven density of the weft yarn (count/2.54 cm)]; (2) EC1≥200 N and EC2≥200 N [wherein, EC1 is the edgecomb resistance (N) in the warp direction by ASTM D6479-02; and EC2 is the edgecomb resistance (N) in the weft direction by ASTM D6479-02]; (3) 0.85≤EC2/EC1≤1.15; and (4)≤0.1 L/cm<SP>2</SP>×min air permeability measured at 19.6 kPa test differential pressure based on a Frazir type method prescribed by JIS L 1096.
