PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hopper capable of preventing a damage of an article without decreasing a treating velocity. SOLUTION: The article is temporarily stored in the double swing hopper 4 by closing both the first and second gates G1 and G2 having inner surfaces 41 and 42 respectively each forming an accommodating space A1 accommodating the article, and the article is discharged from the double swing hopper 4 by rotating and opening both the gates G1 and G2. Since the first inner surface 41 is continuously formed so that a tilting angleθ3, with respect to the horizontal surface H1, of the lower end part G1d of the inner surface 41 of the first gate G1 is smaller than a tilting angleθ2 of the upper end part G1u, the article that slipped down on the first inner surface 41 can slide obliquely upward along the second inner surface 42 of the second gate G2.
