PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk apparatus provided with a mechanism for cooling an optical pickup head. SOLUTION: A mecha cover 18 has an aperture 20 formed facing a range where the optical pickup head 10h can move. The aperture 20 is a rectangular hole or a long hole extending in the radial direction of an optical disk D and having a length matched with a maximum moving distance in the radial direction of the optical pickup head 10h. The upstream-side long side of the rectangular hole, or the long hole is bent a little downward, that is in a direction of moving away from the optical disk D.
