PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus and method capable of reducing variations in glossiness. SOLUTION: A plurality of recording modes are prepared which include a first recording mode to perform recording so as to make almost equal the recording ratios of the plurality of nozzle arrays and a second recording mode to perform recording so as to make the recording ratio of at least one of the nozzle arrays situated at both ends out of the plurality of nozzle arrays smaller than the recording ratios of other nozzle arrays.
