PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding shelf support implement for preventing such events that a shelf support arm is improperly released from the lock, a shelf board is suspended therefrom and articles mounted thereon fall therefrom. SOLUTION: This folding shelf support implement constituted by a mounting bracket 20 and the support arm 40 foldably pivoted to the mounting bracket 20, wherein a slide member 52 retained longitudinally slidable along the shelf support arm 40 slides between an unlocking position related to only the shelf support arm 40 and a locking position extending across shelf support arm 40 and the mounting bracket 20 and retaining the shelf support arm 40 in a shelf supporting state.
