A table has a rectangular horizontal frame consisting of four spars joined at each corner and supported by a table leg. At each corner one first spar is held under pressure against the second spar by a fixture. The pressure is applied horizontally at the normal angle to the spar longitudinal direction. Each leg is in contact with the table frame at two points whose surface Normal angle describes an acute angle to the force exerted. The surface Normal components are in opposite directions.
