Described is a method for forwarding data packets in an access network. The method comprises:
- establishing a connection (49) between two devices (CPE1, BNG1) with the help of a forwarding device (AGS2), and
- in the forwarding device (AGS2) forwarding a data packet of the connection in a first transmission direction using learned relations between addresses (MAC2) and output ports (P1, P2).
