The invention relates to a cap for a substantially moisture tight container and cap assembly. The cap comprises a base portion with an outer periphery adapted to extend over at least a portion of the container, a skirt depending downwardly from the base portion and a lip seal member depending downwardly from the base portion. The container has an opening bounded by a lip extending upwards from the container and the skirt is configured at a location on the base portion that allows the skirt to enter into a closing relationship with the lip in which the skirt fits over a periphery of the lip. The lip seal member is adapted to abut an interior side of the lip, when the cap is in a closed position.
