<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for adjusting a clearance so as to close a clearance between a platform and a train, and simultaneously to make a connection between a train step and a platform plane with a smooth inclination. <P>SOLUTION: A machine frame 20 is installed in a cavity arranged at an upper surface of a railway side of a platform P. A first step plate 21 is swingably attached to the machine frame 20 by a hinge 22 in such a way that its side facing the railway can be moved vertically.
