Supporting runners fasten different means of running on a skid. When operating, the means of running fit underneath the supporting runners and can be adjusted between active and inactive positions. A transporter (10) has interconnecting stations (74a,74b) between each buffer trace (58a,58b) in a buffer area (56) and each section (46a) of gravity roller conveyor (46). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) An interconnecting station for a skid; (2) A driving unit for a skid; (3) A driving system for a skid; (4) A transporter for transporting skids.
