Method for estimating the mental state of a person

The method involves defining characteristics e.g. accent, and N-1 characteristics participating in the expression of state in a vocal signal of a human body. A hierarchy precising the relations between the characteristics is established, and a window size is determined according to a hierarchical level. A tag for each characteristic and a value of an acoustic sized indicator are associated to the signal. A row model is constructed from the signal to establish a relation between a clearance of the value and a score reflecting the degree of association between the clearance and the tags. An independent claim is also included for a computer program comprising program instructions for implementing a method for estimating a mental state of a person.
