An electronic, hybrid, polyphonic musical instrument that combines a conventional electric guitar or bass guitar with a two octave midi keyboard. The guitar A has strings G and wired frets C, which when fretted with a user's left hand produces midi data in semi-tone increments. The midi data is then merged with midi information obtained from playing the keyboard E with a user's right hand. Fretting the strings can for example modulate the pitch (in semitone increments) of the notes played on the keyboard B. In another mode, notes fretted on the fretboard B can be altered by keys pressed on the keyboard E. |
