Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method for signing short messages. The method includes the following steps: receiving a short message sent by a sender, acquiring a short message signature in accordance with a preset corresponding relation between status information of the sender and the short message signature, adding the acquired signature into the short message and sending the short message to a receiver. Embodiments of the present invention also disclose a system for signing short messages and a short message processing apparatus. The system for signing short messages includes the short message processing apparatus and a service database. The shot message processing apparatus includes a receiving module, a signature acquiring module and a signature adding module. Embodiments of the present invention enable receivers of the short messages to easily confirm the status of senders.
